So when she's not training in the park, she's spending a fair amount of time with Chekov, the one uncomplicated person in her life. Today she invited him to hang out with her and Naga at Xanadu. She's noticed how fascinated Chekov is by the polar bear dog, and Naga seems to enjoy the attention.]
[Chekov enjoys spending time with Korra, whether that time includes sparring lessons or just hanging out. Hanging out with people (people he isn't romantically attached to, that is) his own age is still a relatively new and exciting thing. While he has a number of friends in the City, most of them are people he works with. Work is not hanging out.
After finishing up at City Solutions, he sprints to Xanadu to meet with Korra. She's easy enough to find with Naga by her side.]

[He's quite pleased to see them both, but limits the hugging to Naga. Chekov isn't familiar enough with Korra's culture to determine when hugging is appropriate and when it is not.]
[After Naga gets some love, Chekov decides to give Korra a quick hug just to see if that's okay. One never knows without experimenting, and she can always hit him if it's not welcomed.]
To do... Korra, have you heard the rumor that there is an alien temple?
[A squeeze with so much enthusiasm that Chekov is nearly lifted off the ground, but that's not a bad thing. It's always a pleasure to find someone who isn't opposed to random hugs.

Or maybe it is a spaceship. My source heard this from a friend who heard from a friend, so I'm sure many details have been lost, but near the bottom of the mountain and facing the sea, there is supposed to be a strange ruin of some kind. Would you like to search for it, sometime?
[Naga huffs a little -- she's not a pack animal -- but she's carried heavier loads than this before anyway. She doesn't complain when Chekov scampers up.]

[It's okay, Naga. He barely weighs anything, and scamper up he does. And Chekov thought that riding horses was exciting! For a lack of anything to hold on to, he latches on to Korra.
He's riding a polar bear dog and he has not done anything undignified like squeeing in delight. Best. Day. Ever.]
I use the reins. [They're not like a horse's reins, going nowhere near her mouth, but they're arranged on the saddle in such a way that if Korra tugs in a direction, Naga will know.
They're not moving as quickly as Naga could, mostly because Naga still hasn't quite gotten the hang of navigating a human city.]
They're very different from reins I have seen. [...] Not that I have seen many.
[Directions? Please.] I can do that. I am a navigator.
[Although, without a starchart or coordinates or any kind of mathematical system, his directions are of questionable help. "Around that tree!" "Turn forty-eight degrees northwest in twenty meters!" "Do not trample anyone!"]

[Oh, right. Alien ruins. Chekov scans the side of the mountain rising up alongside the beach. They didn't exactly follow the route he had drawn out in his head, but it can't be too far away.]
