[After Naga gets some love, Chekov decides to give Korra a quick hug just to see if that's okay. One never knows without experimenting, and she can always hit him if it's not welcomed.]
To do... Korra, have you heard the rumor that there is an alien temple?
[A squeeze with so much enthusiasm that Chekov is nearly lifted off the ground, but that's not a bad thing. It's always a pleasure to find someone who isn't opposed to random hugs.
Oh, but alien temple!]
Or maybe it is a spaceship. My source heard this from a friend who heard from a friend, so I'm sure many details have been lost, but near the bottom of the mountain and facing the sea, there is supposed to be a strange ruin of some kind. Would you like to search for it, sometime?
[Naga huffs a little -- she's not a pack animal -- but she's carried heavier loads than this before anyway. She doesn't complain when Chekov scampers up.]
Naga's always happy to help a friend. C'mon, girl, let's go!
[It's okay, Naga. He barely weighs anything, and scamper up he does. And Chekov thought that riding horses was exciting! For a lack of anything to hold on to, he latches on to Korra.
He's riding a polar bear dog and he has not done anything undignified like squeeing in delight. Best. Day. Ever.]
I use the reins. [They're not like a horse's reins, going nowhere near her mouth, but they're arranged on the saddle in such a way that if Korra tugs in a direction, Naga will know.
They're not moving as quickly as Naga could, mostly because Naga still hasn't quite gotten the hang of navigating a human city.]
They're very different from reins I have seen. [...] Not that I have seen many.
[Directions? Please.] I can do that. I am a navigator.
[Although, without a starchart or coordinates or any kind of mathematical system, his directions are of questionable help. "Around that tree!" "Turn forty-eight degrees northwest in twenty meters!" "Do not trample anyone!"]
[Interesting? It was fun. Chekov is positively giddy when he slides off of Naga.]
Look! We made it here without killing anyone!
[Oh, right. Alien ruins. Chekov scans the side of the mountain rising up alongside the beach. They didn't exactly follow the route he had drawn out in his head, but it can't be too far away.]
[That...does not make Korra feel very good. She'd feel confident taking on anything if she had all her bending, but airbending alone? She's not so sure.]
Yes, Naga would-- [Ooh! Chekov gets distracted by something on the mountain. Through a layer of dirt and dust, the glint of metal and pink glass is visible.]
Look! That should be it.
[The only way up is through a cracked pathway through the mountain--certainly not big enough for Naga to fit through. Chekov takes a look and, upon not seeing anything terrifying, heads on up.]

[Korra's not by nature an explorer, but she'll try anything once.]
action
Would Naga like to go?

She goes where I go.
[Normally Naga has always been content to do her own thing unless Korra needed her, but these days the polar bear dog has refused to leave her side.
There's a reason they're best friends.]

[He heads to the beach on foot, assuming Korra will follow. No, it doesn't occur to him to ask about riding Naga.]

[And he was totally going to walk there, Korra!]
action
[For a genius, you can be a real dumbass. It's cute.
She pats Naga's shoulder and the polar bear dog leans down so she can hop on. Korra reaches out a hand to Chekov.]
Care for a lift, Smartypants?
action
That would be faster, yes. Naga doesn't mind?
[He's already grabbing Korra's hand.]

You'll have to give me directions, though.

I think it should be close.
Re: action
Good job, Naga.
[Were you giving her lip, Korra? Naga huffs, unimpressed, and Korra just laughs. She turns to Chekov.]
Lead the way!
action
It was not Naga I was worried about so much as your driving.
[And away! He sets off in what he's almost sure is the right direction.]
If we find what I'm looking for, it may be infested with monsters.

What kind of monsters?

How would I know? I haven't been there before.

Good thing we have Naga.

To my knowledge, yes. Why?
