[ They've been talking so much about cooking together (or her teaching him to cook, at least) — it is time to finally put those words into action. Tessa has borrowed two cooking books from the library, one with the meals that she is more used to and one on Russian food, and she's waiting for him by the fountain where they agreed to meet, the books under one arm. ]

[Tessa is already at the fountain by the time Chekov jogs there after work. Learning to cook isn't something that he's especially eager to do, but at least he will be doing it with Tessa. That makes it more than tolerable.
