Most of my personal canon for this Chekov was established in 2013 or earlier, so anything revealed since then might not be reflected. It might even be contradicted! I'm sorry. It's too late to turn back now.]

- A school long known for its outstanding physics programs.
- Chekov attended courses in person during the summer semester and remotely the rest of the year.
- He learned to speak German relatively fluently, but a lack of practice has made him rusty.
Starfleet Academy (ages 14 – 17)
- Pavel applied to Starfleet three times (first at age eleven) before being accepted.
- He was at the top of his class in stellar cartography and transporter theory.

ADDITIONAL ACADEMY-ERA CANON
Due to his age, Chekov was given private accommodations in Nimitz Hall, Room 316. His best friend throughout most of his stay was Alexandra Leigh, a fellow navigation student who lived across the hall. Alex had many other friends, but she did make a point of looking out for Pavel and inviting him to the occasional party.

At fourteen, Chekov was nearly drowned in his dorm room during an attempt to frame Kirk for murder. He has yet to get over his fears of water and small spaces.

When he was fifteen, he became the youngest Starfleet cadet to win the academy's annual marathon.

Pavel took the Kobayoshi Maru at the age of sixteen. His solution was to evacuate his crew and self-destruct, taking the enemy with him. Much to Pavel's humiliation, his ejected crew and the Kobayoshi Maru's crew were both killed in the explosions of the four warp-drive vessels and the attending radiation. Regardless, his handling of the situation made his performance more than adequate.

There are rumors that he used his programming skills to help James Kirk cheat the Kobayoshi Maru simulation.

CAREER
- He became the youngest ranking officer in Starfleet history (as of his time) upon appointment to the Enterprise in 2258.
- Ensign Chekov served as navigator and tactical officer.
- He was temporarily promoted to chief engineering officer in 2259.
- Chekov received a special commendation for bravery after a mission to Pollux IV.
- In 2261, Chekov was promoted to lieutenant.
